In the English dub of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood episode 21, some changes were made to the story line which is good because it makes the movie more accessible for those who don’t understand Japanese. For starters, Ed and Al are no longerfocused on revenge but are instead trying to find their way in a new world where they have no memories of their past. This change makes more sense because in the original manga and anime series, Ed was always focused on revenge whereas Al tended to be more introspective.
The other big change that was made was with the characters. Instead of being two separate personalities, each brother was given a shared personality which made them easier to connect with. I also enjoyed the addition of Winry as a character because she wasn’t just a prosthetic limbs manufacturer like many other characters in the film. She had her own goals and motivations which made her more interesting than most.
